We shouldn’t be under the yoke of the EEU for “cheap” price of gas (video)
EEU countries aren’t in normal relations with each other, let alone Armenia. Says NA “Heritage” party deputy Tevan Poghosyan. “I personally don’t believe in the success of the EEU, as every integration process has short life and as other integration processes it fades away during time. Armenia must use its alternative and go in the direction of the EU,”- he said. He doesn’t agree with the viewpoint that Armenian products don’t meet European standards and may be realized only in Russian market: “If we were connected with European market, we would have opportunity to regulate our business, legislative and many other spheres, but alas, we have chosen another direction. Long lasting interests are more important for our country and we must be led by that principle. I prefer long lasting interests.” The deputy stresses that the country, which is in dependency, can’t come up with its own positions and he reminds that Russia has sold weapons to our rival for a long time, but only after the last incident we have heard that Armenia is really concerned about it: “May be gas price is cheaper on the border, but if our residents pay high price inside the border, it is already our inner political life, we shouldn’t be under the yoke of the EEU for “cheap” price of gas,”- noted the deputy. Mr. Poghosyan also turned to the activities of the Troika: “From the very beginning we have realized that the cooperation will be over inner political and economic issues and there will be different positions on foreign policy, that’s why foreign policy hasn’t been included on the agenda.”
