Is the EEU supranational economic organization and if yes, which are the powers that the RA readdresses to the EEU governing bodies? HAK Deputy Gagik Jhangiryan asked NA Deputy Minister of Finances Suren Karayan. Taking into account that decisions in all the EEU government bodies are made by consensus, is the RA getting additional powers over member countries, “Besides, is the RA taking over additional financial obligations by this treaty or not? Also, which body will adopt legal base, acts in the EEU, when it is an economic organization?” Suren Karayan makes sure that we don’t give powers to the EEU, but making decisions together with the member countries of the union, we will lead foreign economic policy only in terms of trade. It doesn’t relate to tariff regulations. Yes, those decisions are made by consensus, and if they don’t meet the interests of the RA and harm the economic security, we won’t do that step. It isn’t written anywhere that out country must increase or decrease any power. The RA will take over additional obligation when being a member, it creates its budget, by which EEU bodies will be financed.” By the way, today the NA with 54 for, 59 against and 4 abstained votes refused the initiative of “Heritage” to make changes in the EC.
