Protest outside NA building: Protesters urge not to ratify EEU membership treary (video)
A group of civil activists, representatives of NGOs, opposition politicians have gathered outside the National Assembly who demand that the National Assembly not ratify the treaty on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The protesters claim that Armenian lawmakers do not understand that they are making a mistake by ratifying the treaty. They handed over 131 letters to MPs urging each lawmaker to vote against the treaty that will sooner or later be brought to justice. "We are warning them against committing a fatal error,“ said Armen Hovhannisyan, a member of the Hayazn Party. Chairman of the Union for National Self-Determination (AIM), Paruyr Hayrikyan, says the EEU membership determines the fate of our future generations. “All those who ratify the treaty can write for our future generations that they were colts to sign the treaty. These people should be taken to a psychiatric hospital by ambulances since a normal man would never agree to sign the treaty.”
