What awaits Armenian migrants after EEU membership? (video)
Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will not promote emigration, says the head of the State Migration Service. Gagik Eganyan hurries to enumerate the three most important benefits for Armenian migrants working in Russia after the EEU membership. “The labour markets in the EEU territory will become common for the member states. Armenians working in the territory of Russia will exercise the same rights as Russian citizens. At present, migrants are required to apply for a work permit in a special procedure, which implies submitting work permit applications and paying dues. The requirements for obtaining employment authorization will change after the accession and migrants will not have to pay money,” he stressed. As long as the labour contract is in force, both the migrant and his family members shall be considered legal residents in Russia. The third advantage is that any person who enters Russia will be given 30 days for registration. Mr Eganyan today met media representatives to introduce tundarc.am information system which is meant to for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia (dual citizens) returning to Armenia from foreign countries.
