SIS: Investigator abused powers
Based on the report of citizen Parandzem G. a criminal case was launched based on the materials prepared in the Special Investigation Service of Armenia in accordance with Part 1 of Article 308 of the Criminal Code, the SIS Press Service reports. According to the report, during the preparation of the materials related to the traffic accident pending in his proceedings, an investigator of the Armenian Police on November 2013, on personal grounds, used his official position contrary to the interests of his service against having sexual intercourse with the friend of Natalia Sh. at the latter’s request and in exchange he concealed the circumstances of the participation of Natalia Sh. in the offense by distorting the actual circumstances with her participation. A preliminary investigation is underway. The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
