David Tonoyan: Azerbaijan’s leadership bears full responsibility for new reality
Before making the decision to employ a new method of ceasefire violation, the leadership of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces didn't bother themselves to calculate whether the accompanying damage of attacking the Artsakh helicopter would exceed the anticipated military advantage, First Deputy Minister of Defense David Tonoyan said. “By saying ‘accompanying damage’ I mean the possible actions of Armenian forces in response to the shooting down of the helicopter, and of course, the danger of disruption of negotiations and cancelation of efforts aimed at strengthening the ceasefire. Since large-scale military exercises and air force flights [by the sides] near the Line of Contact were not a novelty, Azerbaijan’s leadership bears full responsibility for the new reality,” he continued.
