Doesn't minister know the actual number of emigrants?
During the discussion of the draft budget for 2015 in the Armenian parliament, secretary of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Aram Manukyan reminded Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan that 455 000 Armenians have applied to other countries to receive citizenship or refugee status. “Let me conditionally call this new wave of emigration new Diaspora though I know that you work with old one.” What work do you do with the new Diaspora?” he asked. Hranush Hakobyan said that she also calls them conditionally old and new Diaspora. “We divide the CIS territory, Russia into areas so that we can work easily with them.” Aram Manukyan later wondered whether the Minister was aware of the actual number of migrants. “We know migration statistics, that is enough,” said the Minister.
