The secondary school of the border village of Navur is in dire condition and needs a major overhaul. School Principal Kamo Mardanyan says the school has not been renovated completely since 1973 although it was planned by a program. In 2012, the school was partially renovated as part of the Government program of upgrading learning facilities. “The money was spent on the renovation of the gym and its roof, the building of elementary classes, windows.  The main building has not yet undergone basic renovation, which requires large amounts of money. Last year they came and assessed the entire renovation work which was to start this year. But, the renovation was stopped as they could not obtain funding from abroad,” he said. The principal added that the school is furnished and has a computer classroom. The school has 16 first graders.
