SIS: Protocol was not annexed to the files of criminal case

The Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia received the materials from the Arabkir Investigation Department of the Armenian Police prepared on basis of the report filed by defendant Armen A., on basis of which a criminal case was instituted in accordance with Part 1 of Article 308 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, the SIS Press Service reports. Armen A. ,the defendant to the criminal case reviewed in Arabkir Investigation Department of Yerevan City Investigation Department of Principal Investigation Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, being warned in writing of the criminal liability for giving false testimony, filed a report declaring that after being taken to the Kanaker-Zeytun Police Department of the Republic of Armenia, he gave written statements to the police officers about the reasons and the circumstances of his whereabouts, but the protocol about the legal proceedings was not annexed to the files of the criminal case. A preliminary investigation is under way. The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
