OEK not invited to October 10 rally (video)
The Country of Law Party (OEK) will not participate in the October 10 rally to be held by the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and Heritage in Yerevan. “We have not received an invitation. We do not want to be unsolicited guests,” Secretary of the OEK faction Mher Shahgeldyan told A1+. Talking to reporters on October 8, Mr Shahgeldyan said a rally is a way of expressing political positions, and they view the October 10 rally as a sign of political activity. The OEK member says his party cooperates with the opposition parties on issues like electoral reforms, turnover tax and the 12-point demands The OEK is also going to rally its supporters in the near future. Speaking about Armenia’s accession to the European Economic Union, Mr Shahgeldyan said ‘it stems from Armenia’s security’ and he believes that the treaty will be signed on October 10. He says a huge market will open before Armenians after the membership and our entrepreneurs are familiar with the market. However, Mher Shahgeldyan says, it will not curb migration.
