Director of the Alternative Research Center Tatul Manaseryan does not exclude that the protests of small traders may be directed by certain forces in order to create a mess in the sector. The economist says political figures are making ambiguous statements on the controversial law on sales tax. “The Government and the National Assembly do not pay attention to two important things; they were to raise public awareness and conduct open debates," he said. Before adopting the law they were to discuss the bill with people. But the authorities did not do it, raising a public outcry. The economist says we are reluctant to use our potential which can promote development of the country’s economy.
