Levon Zurabyan adresses letter to ALDE-PACE group
With his irresponsible foreign policy, Serzh Sargsyan has made a muddle of things so many times that today everyone is trying to seize the opportunity and, against the background of international contempt for Serzh Sargsyan, make different reports, resolutions and statements against Armenia and Karabakh. Azerbaijan has again targeted the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, with its delegates submitting three draft reports on the Karabakh issue. The PACE Bureau has combined the reports and prepared another one entitled “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan”. Since the report is drafted by the PACE Bureau, its text is not published. The Armenian delegation should take drastic measures to stop the circulation of the report. However, instead of leaving for Strasbourg immediately, Head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hermine Naghdalyan first decided to visit [Russian official] Nikolai Ryzhkov to congratulate him on his birthday and then departs Strasbourg. In the meantime, Levon Zurabyan, a member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, is trying his best to abort the adoption of this anti-Armenian report. Zurabyan has already addressed a letter to ALDE group members with the hope that they will support the position of Armenian delegates. Nevertheless, it is clear that Armenia has lost its political weight in the international arena to such an extent that it will be difficult to save the situation with similar efforts, Ilur.am reports.
