Hovik Abrahamyan is not engaged in charity (video)
The Tsiraneni (Apricot Tree) Genocide Foundation needs 2 mln drams to print foreign-language brochures about the Genocide and spread them in the Turkish-speaking societies. “The Foundation was founded two years ago and aims to carry out effective campaign against Turkey's denial policy. We have collected many materials and cited mainly foreign authors, including the memories of ambassadors and consuls, so that Turks will not say that Armenians have invented everything. We want to publish about 4-5 mln booklets,” says Luiza Hovhannisyan, Founding Director of the Foundation. Luiza Hovhannisyan has already turned to legislators, prime minister, philanthropists, mank managers and even to the president, but to no avail. “While they welcome the initiative, they refuse to render financial assistance saying they do not have funds. The most ridiculous was the reply given by the lawyer of former parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan who said ‘we are not engaged in charity.’ This did not discourage Luiza Hovhannisyan who continues to knock doors to arrange the publication of brochures.
