There is Ukrainian atmosphere in front of the Arno Babajanyan concert hall entrance. Ukrainian community in Armenia celebrates the 200th anniversary of writer and painter Taras Shevchenko. First of all, diplomatic relations are important for strengthening Armenian-Ukrainian relations. Ivan Kukhta, Ukrainian Ambassador in Armenia is the guest of the event. The Ambassador thanks the community for their work, “They present Ukrainian culture and history in Armenia without getting money. Today they are celebrating the birthday of Shevchenko, it is also very important. Taras was a great writer and patriot. If he was alive, he would be on the first line of Maydan.” The situation is stabilizing in Ukraine, assures the Ambassador. There were many Ukrainian citizens, who moved to Armenia during the war, but no one turned to the Embassy for help, “We are here to help Ukrainian citizens if necessary both with getting information and other issues.” Ukrainian Nadezhda Mirzoyan has lived in Armenia for 30 years, but some months ago, in spite of the war in Ukraine, she went to the homeland to see what was happening there, “Of course, I am sorry for my homeland. Now I live in Armenia, which is also a homeland for me, it is peaceful here, but I am much concerned about Ukraine.” Today Ukrainian community in Armenia has more than 1000 members. All they want only one thing- peace both in Ukraine and Armenia.
