NSS: Head of Registry Office arrested while taking bribe
On September 23, employees of the National Security Service caught the head of the Registry Office of Sevan City red-handed while taking bribe from a citizen. Having problems with the Russian immigration law, Yerevan citizen R. Iskandayan turned to the head of the Registry Office Manush Kirakosyan for help. The latter promised to give him a fake marriage certificate without proper documents and formalities for $500. The head of the Registry Office assured Iskandayan that the certificate would enable him to acquire another surname, get a new passport and travel to Russia without any problems. A criminal case has been instituted at the Investigation Department of the National Security Service under Article 311 (Article 3) of the Criminal Code. Investigation is in progress.
