Gagik Tsarukyan: Compared to China's economy, our economy is ‘a drop in the ocean’
Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gagik Tsarukyan has given an interview to Zham.am, a Yerevan-based publication. Last week you visited China. Let us start from your trip. I visited China at the invitation of the Chinese side. I was accompanied by a group of MPs. We held a number of important meetings there. I would like to take the opportunity and express my gratitude to the Chinese authorities for organizing such a high-level meeting. I am satisfied with the results of the meetings and I see great opportunities for our country. Compared with their economy, Armenia’s economy is ‘a drop in the ocean,’ and they are not particularly interested in us. It is very important for us to be able to present our problems and offers to the right people in the right way. Discussions should not remain in the air. I tried to solve this very problem by presenting Armenia's economic capacities and proposals. I was particularly impressed by the pace of development of the Chinese economy and their respectful attitude to a businessman. I was pleasantly surprised by the favorable business environment where small, medium-sized and large businesses operate together. Our Chinese colleagues pointed out that any interference in a businessman’s affairs and pressure on him is condemnable in their country. As a result, the fight against corruption is on a high level in this country. And here, we have a lot to learn from Chinese.
