Why was Deputy Minister of Economy sacked?
The dismissal of Deputy Minister of Economy Karine Minasyan is not linked to Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union (CU), Minister of Economy Karen Chshmarityan told reporters on June 4. “She was dismissed according to her application,” said the minister. Karen Chshmarityan added that the CU working group would be headed by someone else. Asked whether he could not ‘find a common language’ with the deputy minister, Mr Chshmarityan said, “We have always been on good terms.” Karen Chshmarityan does not think Karine Minasyan will be left without work. According to press reports, Karine Minasyan is a relative of former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
