Aragatsotn region Ohanavan and 6 neighboring village residents closed Yerevan-Aparan highway at the moment. “Now we- 500 people closed the road and demand to stop the construction of hydroelectric station near Aparan water reservoir. The head of Aragatsotn region has also come and is trying to convince us to open the road, but we will open it, if they promise that the HPP won’t be built,”- Ohanavan resident Vardan Poghosyan told “A1+”. According to the residents, the HPP near Aparan water reservoir will reduce irrigation water amounts of their apple orchards, which is not much even now. “Aparan water reservoir is filled only during precipitations and this year they were little.
