Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II receives Georgian President
Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II received on Friday Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili who was in Armenia on an official visit. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian accompanied the Georgian president. Greeting the Georgian delegation led by President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Karekin II said he was pleased with the existing level of cooperation and expressed hopes that such mutual visits contribute to the strengthening of bilateral ties. The Catholicos of All Armenians said the Armenian Church has always directed its efforts to the reinforcement of solidarity and fraternity between the two neighbours. The sides also referred to the state of the Armenian community in Georgia, focusing on its historical and present contribution country’s economic, cultural and educational life. After the meeting, the Georgian leader visited the Holy See.
