Santa Clause residence to build in Armenia

The first small grant contract on implementation of a local initiative selected in the framework of the "Citizens Voice and Actions in Consolidated Communities in Armenia" project, implemented with the support of the European Union, was signed on 9 July with Sarapat consolidated community in Shirak region.

The project developed with participation of the members of the community and approved by Sarapat community council, proposes to build a Santa Clause residence to attract tourists to the community during the long winter season in Shirak region.

Similar projects are to be implemented in 50 consolidated communities across Armenia with a view to promote engagement of citizens in community development activities using Citizen Budget participatory planning methodology.
