Hakob Mkrtchyan becomes champion of World Weightlifting Championships

Weightlifter Hakob Mkrtchyan won the first gold medal for Armenia at the World Weightlifting Championships held in Padaya, Thailand.

For tomorrow's round we have no participants, and on September 25, Tatev Hakobyan (87 kg, A group) and then Samvel Gasparyan (102 kg, A group) will present.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also made a post about this on his Facebook page:

“Hakob Mkrtchyan - world champion.

Armenian athlete Hakob Mkrtchyan became world weightlifting champion in 89kg weight category.

Work and effort cannot be in vain. Good job Hacob," he wrote.
