Why was Orange Armenia sold to Ucom?

Orange Armenia will continue to serve its 650,000 customers. Yesterday it was reported that UCOM Company was going to purchase Orange Armenia. Today it became known that Orange Armenia is not going to leave the Armenian market but the company is changing its shareholder and transferring its shares to UCOM Company. The sale of the company’s shares has two objectives: first, to create major mobile network and second, to offer customers innovative service including fixed and mobile convergent offers through a combination of complementary actions. Orange Armenia will continue to provide its subscribers with new services, General Director of Orange Armenia Francis Gelibter said at a press conference on Wednesday.
