Herpetologist: To consider snakes harbingers of disaster is illogical
To consider the activation of snakes as a warning of menacing disaster is not logical, says herpetologist Aram Agasyan.
While the herpetologist does not deny that animals and reptiles have the ability to predict foreboding danger from nature, he says this is not the case to fear.
"Construction is underway in Yerevan streets. When Man interferes with nature, the probability of meeting reptiles increases," Aram Agasyan explained.
The specialist says the presence of reptiles, especially snakes in the capital is quite natural as Yerevan has an interesting biodiversity.
"Yerevan is located at the intersection of the two zones, Also a river is flowing through the city. The city is expanding, and similar problems are quite normal," he said.
Research worker Silva Adamyan, also participating in the discussion, expressed her indignation over the increased number of mosquitoes and flies, blaming it on the ongoing construction and debris.
"Yerevan's ecosystem is endangered," she said.
