June 26 marks International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.

"Civil Society Institute" and "Against Legal Arbitrariness" non-governmental organizations have organized a number of events in this connection. Members and activists of the aforesaid NGOs will be holding a march and picket in front of the concerned agencies, including the RA Police, Court of general Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nor-Nork administrative districts, Prosecutor General's Office, Special Investigation Service and Cassation Court.

As part of the events, a dozen of citizens gathered in the morning outside the police building in Yerevan, trying to give a letter to the police officials. However, they were disallowed to approach the building. The group members were wearing shirts with the inscription "Armenia without Torture."
