Artak Budaghyan interrogated as a witness
Colonel Artak Budaghyan, who was injured during a June 1 shootout near the house of former governor of Syunik province, Surik Khachatryan, has been interrogated as a witness, Mary Sargsyan, a senior officer at the Investigative Service of the RA Ministry of Defense, told Pastinfo.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, says Artak Bydaghyan is already in a normal health condition and may leave hospital later on Saturday.
Nikolay Abrahamyan, one of the bodyguards of Surik Khachatryan who was also involved in the shootout, was also questioned as witness.
Former mayoral candidate in Goris Avetik Budaghyan was killed and his brother Artak Budaghyan was wounded in the high-profile incident outside Surik Khachatryan's house. Nikolay Abrahamyan, a relative and bodyguard of Khachatryan, was also wounded in the gunfight. Following the deadly shoot-out Khachatryan tendered his resignation and was relieved of his post on June 6.
