Ethics Committee drops charges agaisnt Republican MP
The NA Ad Hoc Committee on Ethics today dismissed [during an open-door session] the charges brought against Republican MP Naira Karapetyan filed by director of the Moscow House, Armine Tutunjyan. The latter demanded that the Committee examine the ‘disrespectful behavior' of the Republican lawmaker. Tutunjyan claimed that Karapetyan had threatened and insulted her over the telephone.
"Our studies have shown that this is an ordinary domestic dispute which has nothing to do with the powers or position of the lawmaker," said Davit Harutyunyan, Chairman of the NA Ad Hoc Committee on Ethics.
Naira Karapetyan did not attend the session though she had proposed that the access to the session be free.
