Iraq’s ambassador hands copies of credentials to Armenian FM
On June 20, newly-appointed ambassador of Iraq to Armenia Ghazi Tahel Khaled presented the copies of his credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.
The Armenian official congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success. Edward Nalbandian expressed the hope that the ambassador will boost the historic and traditional relations between Armenia and Iraq. He added that recent high-level mutual visits and opening of embassies in both countries gave fresh impetus to Armenian-Iraqi ties.
In his turn, Ambassador Khaled assured the Armenian FM he will do his utmost to develop bilateral cooperation. He added that Iraq attaches importance to widening and deepening relations with Armenia. The Iranian ambassador also underlined the contribution of the Armenian community in the development and prosperity of Iran.
The two men also dwelt on the developments taking place in the Middle East, and the steps towards ensuring stability and security in Iraq.
