Only one observer from the Transparency International Anti-corruption Center NGO has been registered to observe the June 23 early election in Surenavan community in Ararat province, says the website of the Central Election Commission.

Two candidates are vying for the seat of the community head - Karo Karapetyan, a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, currently unemployed, and Vazgen Ghazaryan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, the brother of former village head Vardges Ghazaryan, who died in a car accident on Yerevan-Yeraskhavan roadway in May 2013.

One polling station has been formed in the community which has a total of 1 953 voters, Pastinfo news agency reports.
