Police in Armenia started new legal proceedings against civil activist Vardges Gaspari for lying on Baghramyan avenue in April 2013 and preventing policemen from dispersing demonstrators.

On April 9, a group of citizens disgruntled at the outcome of February's presidential elections that gave a landslide victory to Serzh Sargsyan, held a protest on Baghramyan avenue but were stopped by police officers. Several civil activists were taken to police departments on that day allegedly for impeding president's inauguration. Gaspari, who was among the detainees, says the police inflicted bodily injury on him and hurt his leg but he was not given a forensic medical reference. Nor did the Mashtots Police Department protocol his detention.
