Patriotic Initiative calls for Syunik governor’s dismissal
Armenia-based Garegin Nzhdeh Patriotic Initiative strongly condemns the recent incident outside the house of notorious governor of Syunik province, Surik Khachatryan (nicknamed Liska), which left one person dead and two more injured.
"We could expect everything from Liska but not such cynicism and permissiveness. We call on Serzh Sargsyan to sack, without a moment's hesitation, Syunik governor who threatens the lives of citizens. Yesterday's incident associated with his name proved that he poses danger not only to the state but also to the citizens of Armenia. In the end, it turns out that the "guilty side" is his bodyguard Zarzand...," the initiative said in the statement.
Avo Budaghyan, a former mayoral candidate, was killed in the result of Saturday's shooting outside the house of Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan.
