2014 to be a year of premieres
Armenian animation industry is prospering as the number of professionals who create quality animated films have increased. This is animation director Davit Sahakyants' opinion.
"Recently we have tried to fill the gap and create projects which are for children", he said.
On the occasion of Hovhannes Tumanyan's 145th anniversary, "Robert Sahakyants production" is going to realize a project which will be a series of cartoons based on Hovhannes Tumanyan's children verses.
"We have submitted the projected to the Ministry of Diaspora and they confirmed it. The cartoons of the series will be made by different directors with different styles", Davit Sahakyants said.
He promises: 2014 will be a year of premieres. The long-awaited premiere of "Anahit" animated film will also be in 2014. Davit Sahakyants said, that today Armenian animated film industry is prospering and can compete with foreign industries. "We have a good school which develops and "Anahit" is a proof of that fact".
The only problem is to present Armenian cartoons abroad. "We have a lack of producers and distributors and that is why we - directors are also engaged in promoting our films", he added.
