Officers in business
Today, general-mayor Astvatsatur Petrosyan had a meeting with journalists. Speaking about the significance of the day, he said, "There is no army without idea, yet it is treachery to have parties in the army".
General-mayor is sure, that the efficiency of any army does not depend on the ammunition but on economic and alliance potential.
He also spoke about officers' pensions and salaries.
"Officers' salary is low. It is the same as in 1995. It is not enough for the minimum social basket", he said.
He thinks that the problem is also moral and officers' salary must systematically rise.
"A military serviceman does not have the right to be in any kind of business, yet everyone has to be in business to keep the family" added Petrsoyan.
