NOFI Festival of Non-commercial Films to kick in Yerevan
NOFI 3rd International Festival of Non-commercial Films starts in Yerevan on May 28. The festival features 45 films by independent filmmakers from 27 countries of Europe, Asia and America. Over 30 percent of the film-makers are Armenians.
Firm directors and representatives of national non-profit film organizations, as well as organizers of international film festivals are invited to the event which aims to campaign for non-commercial films.
Film director Edgar Baghdasaryan, one of the members of thefestival jury, says he accepted the offer, because he is concerned about the quality of today's cinematography, which has turned into a business.
The festival will last one week.
Although the festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the organizers say they need serious investments.
