Strawberry damaged
The hail in Armavir region damaged strawberry fields.
"The hail crashed strawberries, the whole harvest was damaged", Sirekan Sahakyan who sells strawberries on Yerevan-Armavir highway.
He says, that this year the harvest of strawberry is 3 times less comparing to previous years. Rainy weather contributed to the reduction of strawberry harvest. He does not know now, how he will pay the interest rates of the loan he had taken. "There is not a single villager who did not have loan. Everybody pays interest rates and now we don't know how we will be able to go on paying it".
At the same time, he does not deny that strawberry which is sold on the road is more expensive - 1000 AMD for 1 kg. The reason is the lack of strawberry harvest.
