Will government freeze loan payments?
Representatives of rural communities whose farms were leveled to the ground in the recent hailstorm want the government to freeze their loan payments for them to be able to ‘sober up' after the natural disaster that wiped away their spring crop, Deputy Agriculture Minister Garnik Petrosyan said during a discussion at the Media Center.
"When we have a complete picture about the total amount of loans the residents of the affected communities took from banks, the terms of and deadlines for loan payments, we shall be able to submit our proposals to the government," he said.
The deputy minister does not predict substantial deviations in market prices because of the damaged crop.
The government is still tallying the damage.
