Obama and Erdogan to negotiate
The president of the USA Barack Obama will carry on negotiations with the PM of Turkey Recep Tayip Erdogan. The main topic of negotiations which will take place at the White House will be the civil war going on in Syria. Regional and other bilateral issues will also be on agenda.
On the eve of the talks between the leaders of the USA and Turkey, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked about the pressure on President Obama from Erdogan the aim of which is to take a stronger stance on Syrian issue.
Answering the question, Carney used a standard description of current US policy which is typical for White House associates. He particularly said, that the US would work with Turkey and other partners to bring about a political transition in Syria.
After the talks in the Oval Office the leaders of two states will hold a press conference. Later Obama will host a working dinner with the Turkish leader.
