Armenians will have to wait too long for the Republicans to step down. It will happen when Mher comes out of the cave he is entombed in, Galust Sahakyan, Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group, said on May 13.

(Mher was the son of the legendary Armenian Hero David. While avenging his father, he was cursed and trapped inside Raven's Rock near the ancient Armenian city of Van. Mher is supposed to remain in the cave until justice, honesty and peace are restored in the world).

Sahakyan confesses that there is not such an opposition force in Armenia that will be able to overthrow the Republicans.

Speaking about the mounting emigration, the RPA official said ‘the new generation is eager to see the world.'

"We have a new generation that masters foreign languages, surfs on the Internet and is in search of new things," he said.

Then he reminded that Armenians were leaving their country during the Soviet years as well, though they lived in good conditions then. He says people are abandoning Armenia for a number of reasons: some are offended by the authorities, others are worried as 1-2 soldiers are killed on the frontline every week.

However, Sahakyan stressed many people are arriving in Armenian from different countries despite the escalating emigration.

"... otherwise, how could Raffi [Hovannisian] and Vartan [Oskanian] appear in Armenia?" he said.
