Armenian and Belarusian presidents meet in Yerevan
At the invitation of Serzh Sargsyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Yerevan on May 12 on an official visit.
On May 13, the two presidents held a private meeting in the presidential residence which was followed by negotiations between the two countries' state delegations. After the meeting, the sides are supposed to sign documents on Armenian-Belarusian cooperation. The two presidents will further give a joint press conference, with a state dinner due in the evening.
Within the framework of his official visit, the Belarusian President will pay a visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial and pay tribute to the Genocide victims.
On May 14, Alexander Lukashenko will visit the Nuclear Power Plant in Metsamor and participate in the inauguration of Armenian-Belarusian trade center in Yerevan. On the same day, the two presidents will attend the consecration of the newly-constructed St. Hovhannes church in Abovyan city, Kotayk province.
Belarusian President was met at Zvartnots Airport by Gagik Tsarukyan, Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia, Stepan Sukhorenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Belarus, Armen Khachatryan and other high-ranking officials.
