A group of activists and environmentalists again yesterday visited Byurakan, a village in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia to follow up the construction of a hydro power plant on the Amberd River.

Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan and Minsiter of Defense Seyran Ohanyan were also in Byurakan to attend the unveiling of a khachkar (cross-tone), econews.am reports.

The activists tried to know from Mr Hovsepyan whether the controversial hydro power plant belongs to him because it is registered in his son's name. The Prosecutor General neither confirmed nor refuted the information; he went away without answering the question.

Meanwhile, Byurakan residents continue to claim that the hydropower plant belongs to Hovsepyan's son.
