Sociologist: Let them know whom to turn to
Sociologist Aharon Adibekyan is glad to see his predictions for the May 5 elections to Yerevan's Council of Elders justified.
"We predicted that Taron Margaryan, who topped Republican's list, would poll 54 percent of the vote, with the other 46 percent being distributed among his challengers. From now on, people who order opinion polls will know whom to turn to have correct results," the sociologist told reporters on May 6.
Aharon Adibekyan says the opposition's efforts to politicize the election have been thwarted.
"Therefore, the radical opposition on behalf of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) and Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun scored a modest number of votes, while Barev Yerevan bloc retained only 8 percent of its 37 percent scored in the February presidential election," he said.
The sociologist says people speaking about election bribe simply do not want to admit their illiteracy in campaign organization.
