Levon Ter-Petrosyan to join the march towards Tsitsernakaberd
A traditional march towards Tsitsernakaberd - the Genocide Memorial in Yerevan organized by the Armenian National Congress (HAK) is underway in the Armenian capital. The procession started from the Statue of Saryan, with the group walking towards the hilltop memorial to pay respect to the memory of 1.5 million Armenians killed by the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
The march is led by HAK MPs Aram Manukyan and Gagik Jhangiryan and Vahagn Khachatryan, HAK's candidate for Yerevan Mayor. Young supporters of the HAK are walking ahead, waving the national flag of Armenia -the Armenian Tricolour.
Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan is expected to join the group near Tsitsernakaberd.
