Arakelutyun Party is confident of its victory
Members of the Arakelutyun (Mission) Party, which is running in the May 5 Yerevan municipal elections, today were distributing their campaign platform booklets near Yerevan State University.
Many passersby turned out to be unaware of the party and its program.
Manuk Sukiasyan, who comes second on the party's list, says the campaign billboards reflect the true face of the political forces participating in the election.
"As you can see our posters have been torn and the photos of the Republican candidates have been affixed instead. The posters of the Country of Law (OEK) are so huge that they seem to be advertising a May 1 parade. This is a disgraceful attempt to prevent the campaign," he said.
Manuk Sukiasyan believes that a significant portion of the electorate will cast their votes for his party as ‘Arakelutyun has not been in power, it has not cheated people and taken anything from anyone," he said.
During their tête-à-tête meetings with Yerevan citizens the party's representatives speak about the format of the upcoming election and answer their questions. As Mesrop Arakelyan says many are unaware of the aforesaid.
