Iskandaryan: HHK is leader municipal election
Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) is the absolute leader in the upcoming municipal election in Yerevan, says political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan.
"After the February presidential election, the opposition appeared in a bad situation. With regard to the Heritage party, I can say that the 37 percent of votes the party scored in the presidential election has already exhaled," he said.
The political analyst believes that the people attending the post-election rallies led by Heritage Party Leader Raffi Hovannisian in Freedom Square, voted for the party rather than its leader in the February vote.
This is an opposition movement. It is clear that Raffi Hovannisian could gather the opposition electorate as leading opposition forces, including Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) and Armenian National Congress (HAK) did not participate in the election," he said.
