On April 9, Armenians will be burying the scarecrow of democracy, a former member of the Karabakh Committee said on Monday.

"There will surely be a corpse. I do not mean a human's corpse, I mean the scarecrow existing in Armenia for a long time. There is no representative democracy. There is either democracy or representation. Capital is hiding behind democracy. Tomorrow we shall be building a new system," Ashot Manucharyan told reporters on April 8.
The Karabakh Committee member has suggested convening ‘people's assembly' and has even drafted its agenda.
Speaking about the differences between the representatives of the opposition Heritage and Armenian National Congress (HAK), Manucharyan stressed that they both have had a great contribution to the advancement of the Armenian nation.

"It is thanks to these parties that a large part of intelligentsia and youth became involved in politics. The only solution is that the members of the two parties, who are in search of new things, start cooperating with each other, thereby strengthening the front," he added.

Today the best specialists in the IT sector are leaving Armenia, thus weakening education, science and industry. Both the government and the opposition see it. As soon as we begin to pay attention to the fact there will be vivid changes," he concluded.
