Sharmazanov interrupts Zaruhi Postanjyan
Armenia's National Assembly started its four-day session with Heritage Party Secretary Zaruhi Postanjyan asking NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan about the NA special session slated for April 9. In particular, the Heritage member wanted to know in which hall the session will be held and whether there are guests from abroad.
"Mrs Postanjyan we have already taken a decision regarding the special session," Hovik Abrahamyan said advising Postanjyan to clarify the other details from the NA staff.
"Mr Abrahamyan, I understood from your reply that you do not want to answer my question," said Zaruhi Postanjyan. However, she could not end her speech as NA Vice Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov turned off her microphone. "Your question has nothing to do with the regulation," was the reply.
The Heritage MP asked Mr Abrahamyan to turn on the loudspeaker but again Sharmazanov interrupted her reminding her about the regulations.
"I am starting to believe that the opinion people hold about the National Assembly is quite right...," Postanjyan said without finishing her speech as Sharmazanov interrupted her for the third time.
"You do not have the right to disable the loudspeaker even if, as you say, the MP is violating the regulations as you are not listening to her. By the move, you are violating the Rules of Procedure. She might have passed to the agenda soon," said Vahan Hovhannisyan, a lawmaker of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun).
"We need not listen to the lawmakers till the end to understand them," said Sharmazanov.
