Sukias Avetisyan, a lawmaker of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), says he knows what will happen on April 9, the day of Serzh Sargsyan's inauguration as Armenia's President for a second term.

"April 9 is a holiday for us as our president will be sworn-in for a second term," Avetisyan told journalists on April 5.

On the same day, Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian is rallying his supporters for "the April 9 inauguration of a new Armenia."

Hmayak Hovhannisyan, chairman of the Union of Political Scientists, reminded the HHK lawmaker that both Serzh Sargsyan and Raffi Hovannisian will be sworn-in on April 9 as Armenia's President. Hovannisian, who considers himself to be the rightful winner of the February ballot, has called people to gather at Yerevan's Freedom Square on April 9 for the "inauguration of a new Armenia."

Regarding Serzh Sargsyan's inauguration, Mr Hovhannisyan said ‘he will be sworn-in before Artashes Geghamyan, Victor Dallakyan and Artur Baghadsaryan, who accused him of masterminding the October 27 parlaimentary carnage.'
"Should Serzh Sargsyan accept Raffi Hovannisian's proposal on calling early parliamentary elections, we should have a normal inauguration on April 9," said Mr Hovhannisyan.
Sukias Avetisyan disagreed with him saying that the talks between the two men are possible to continue only after Sargsyan's inauguration.

"Raffi admits that Armenia has an elected president in the person of Serzh Sargsyan," the Republican MP said.
