The number of drug addicts increased by 30 percent in Armenia
There are 4428 registered drug addicts in Armenia. The head of Neurology Clinic Petros Semerjyan notes this number and adds that in our country there is tendency of a drug addicts' increase.
"Over the past 4 years the number of drug addicts has increased in Armenia. Compared with 2012 year it was increased by 30 percent and compared with 2011 we can also mention increase of 100 percent", - he said.
As everywhere else in the world in Armenia drug-addiction obtaining is conditioned with social, legal and psychological problems.
Mostly drug-addicted people are the persons who do not see the meaning of life and from that senseless existence starts the self-destruction", - psychologist Samvel Khudoyane said.
He is convinced that this is one of the diseases the treatment results of which are always suspicious.
Mr. Semerjyan shares the psychologist's opinion.
"We have had patients that received treatment 15 times. The greatest factor here is to be able to resist and overcome", - Peter Semerjyan says.
By the way, 32 of 4428 registered drug addicts are women.
