Supporters of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) again gathered outside the General Prosecutor's Office in Yerevan, calling for the release of HAK activist Tigran Arakelyan. They also demanded to suspend prosecution against the other three activists - Artak Karapetyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and David Kiramijyan.

Secretary of the HAK faction, Aram Manukyan, also spoke about the upcoming municipal elections.

"I assure you that the voice of Yerevan citizens will be decisive in the upcoming polls. I do not want to hurt anyone - the people of Shamshadin, Goris, Stepanavan and other communities, but their situation is much more difficult in view of freedom of expression than that of Yerevan citiznes. It is more difficult to rig elections in Yerevan than in the regions," he said.

The HAK representative says the failure in the forthcoming election might lead to depression, therefore ‘HAK should be well prepared and form a big political anti-government coalition.'
