Vartan Oskanian: Four parallel processes in Armenia
During today's parliamentary briefings, Vartan Oskanian, a lawmaker of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) said four parallel processes are underway in the country. Mr Oskanian stressed the following;
1. The composition of the new government will show the authorities' attitude to people's calls for changes.
2. The post-election developments in Freedom Square must eventually find their solution.
3. Non-governmental forces in the National Assembly demand to draft a new agenda which will envisage amendments to the Electoral Code, elimination of majoritarian voting system, conduct of general elections in accordance with new procedures as well as discussions over possible constitutional changes.
4. The municipal elections in Yerevan slated for May 5
"These four processes are interwoven," Vartan Oskanian said adding that his party was seriously preparing for the upcoming elections to the Yerevan City Council.
Provided that the party wins, it is sure to solve the everyday problems of Yerevan citizens in the most effective way, alleviate their burden, restore the distorted architectural features of the capital, eliminate bureaucratic delays in the local government system, facilitate communication between residents and local authorities and create equal conditions for all interested companies to participate in projects underway in Yerevan.
