HHK submits candidates' list with CEC
The Republican Party of Armenia has submitted with the Central Election Commission its list of candidates to participate in the forthcoming elections to the Yerevan City Council slated for May 5, 2013.
The party's list is led by [incumbent Mayor] Taron Margaryan, Smbat Lputyan and Levon Tokmajyan, CEC Spokesperson Hermine Harutyunyan told A1+.
The City Council includes 65 members who are elected to four-year terms. The mayor of the city is elected by the Council of Elders. Under the law, candidates for mayor are nominated by factions in the Council of Elders. Bids are to be submitted from March 11 to 21.
